Danny Adams

Biography 

Danny Adams is an associate principal at LS3P Associates in Wilmington, NC, where he serves as office design leader. Prior to joining LS3P, he practiced in Washington, DC, and Raleigh, NC, with firms including RTKL Associates, Cunningham | Quill, Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee, and the Freelon Group.

Adams earned a master's degree in architecture from Washington University in 1996 and was awarded a Steedman Traveling Fellowship and 1996 AIA Student Gold Metal Award. Prior to his studies at Washington University, he earned a bachelor's degree in environmental design from North Carolina State University in 1994.

In addition to his professional practice, Adams has been involved in a number of community- and civic-based organizations. From 2010-2015, he served as a board member and chapter president with the Wilmington NC chapter of the AIA; was a member of the Raleigh, NC, architectural review board in 2007 and 2008; and volunteered with the Washington DC Architectural Foundation Architects in the Schools program from 2004-2006.

Among his professional honors, Adams received a 2010 Presidential Citation in Urban Design from the Washington DC AIA for the adaptive reuse project at 1724 California Street. Other AIA Wilmington chapter design awards include a 2012 Merit Award for private residence renovation, a 2013 Honor Award for Live Oak Bank, and a 2014 Honor Award for IKA Works. Additionally, he received North Carolina Chapter AIA awards for Live Oak Bank in 2013 and IKA Works in 2014.

Outside of practicing architecture, Adams is a United States Coast Guard-licensed Merchant Mariner, a professional photographer, and an avid outdoorsman.
