Dongwoo Yim

Biography 

Dongwoo Yim is the principal and co-founder of the Boston-based architecture and research firm PRAUD and a lecturer at Rhode Island School of Design, where he teaches seminars and design studios. He earned a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from Seoul National University.

Yim's research focuses on integral urbanism and architectural typologies that catalyze urban transformation at various scales. He won the Architectural League Prize in 2013 and authored/co-authored North Korean Atlas, Pyongyang, and Pyongyang After, Hamhung and Pyongsung, and I Want to be METROPOLITAN. His works have been published and exhibited worldwide, including at the award-winning Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2014, the Museum of Modern Art (New York), DNA Galerie (Berlin), the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, and Design Center Seoul. He has lectured at Harvard University, Columbia University, Freie Universit├Ąt Berlin, Dartmouth College, China Academy of Art, University of Queensland, and Seoul National University, among others.
