Philippos Photiadis

Biography 

Philippos Photiadis was born in Athens, Greece. He studied architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design (earning a BFA in 1993 and a BArch 1994) and at Harvard Graduate School of Design (earning an MArch in 1999). He worked for SOM and Bernard Tschumi Architects in New York, and Michael Photiadis Architects in Athens. He is a founding member of the creative office 'we design', based in Athens (since 2001). He has taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design Career Discovery program, Boston Architectural College (1998), the Vakalo Art and Design College in Athens (1999-2000), and the University of Patras department of architecture (2007-2010). Along with his practice as an architect, Photiadis has been involved in art and illustration projects and has participated in numerous group and solo art exhibitions in Greece. He has designed theater stage sets, and has illustrated magazine covers and children's books; his fairy tale Zaphiris Kontopitharos was published in 2011. In 2014 'we design' created the brand "Greece Revisited," a series of Greece-inspired products that redefine the greek souvenir.
